YAYAYAYAYAY! John won! So pleased!

He's so sweet and vulnerable and his cheeks go red when he's under pressure and he's like a little boy lost and all he wanted to do was make his mother proud of him - and she was a meanie, there was all the passive aggressive joshing in his little video bit and "John's never won anything" - no wonder all he wanted to do was get some approval and he won won won!

Brendan was astonishing this week in that there was a teeny brief moment when I didn't dislike him vehemently - there was a flash of time when he was interacting with his partner when he seemed a little bit normal and not sooooo full of himself. It didn't last long, when he started giving himself ten out of ten I found myself hoping he'd drop all his fondant fancies.

(weren't they all a tremendous mess?)

James, well, I would have accepted James winning, but he didn't do terribly well today, so I wasn't expecting him to in the end.

They didn't show John's partner, I wonder who was shy? I blame his mother.

So, jolly pleased that Brendan didn't win and extremely pleased that John did. Oh and ho sweet is it that Sarah Jane and Catherine are selling cakes together.

Oh but Sue, your trousers...

John's partner sounds supportive "John also credited his partner, Paul, with some of his success.

He said: "He's a graphic designer, he does birthday cards and I do the cakes. With the Colosseum he drew up a template on the computer so that was a team effort"."

but his mother...

"“My mum is very proud but she wants to keep my feet on the ground, which I need to be honest otherwise I might float away.

“She is very helpful in that sense. No matter how well I am doing she makes me remember how you got there and how hard it was to get there."

(daily mirror thingie I found on google)

I liked John best anyway, but indeed his whole family and his crushing mother and. I squeaked when he won and clapped and frightened the cat.

and yes,we need to see how they made the fancies properly.

Oh, I'm glad he has a someone. It's a bit of a shame he didn't show up, but I hope he was AMAZINGLY PROUD.

I imagine we never get to see Mary making her things because actually she just sets all the ingredients out and clicks her fingers and woodland creatures dance around her creating magical perfect cakes for her, while she BEAMS at them happily and has a cup of tea. <3
