Sitting in the garden, with the gentle smell of cat wee

Yeah, so not entirely picturesque and beautiful. The smell is one thing, the fact I have my foot in a "cars" bucket is another!

So, This morning there was another dead seagull. I am not sure what is going on. Again there was no sign of injury but dead it was. I can't see the other chick, so I don't know what the situation is there either. It's all very unpleasant.

And talking of unpleasantness. I've had my 'things in threes' this afternoon. I'm going to do some baking imminently and so went to the supermarket for supplies. Upon arriving home, I realised my sugar bag had split and 50% of sugar is now in the shopping bag. Smaller batch of cookies then.

I then decided that I would have to move the dead gull as I didn't want it lying in the gutter for ever, so I psyched myself up, and using carrier bag "gloves" went and moved it - only for it to cascade maggots all over me. I'm still shuddering!

Number three: I carted the wheely bin round to finally dispose of the ivy trimmings from Thursday. The few days resting means I was able to compact them into the bin and all was going well.... then I stood on a rusty nail (hence my foot in a bucket!)

I'm kind of scared to start baking now!

Egads, girl!

Is your tetanus jab up to date? If it's been more than ten years, go, go go! If you're not sure, go! No lockjaw for you!!!

Yeah, I'm going to call the doctor tomorrow to see when my tetanus was, and to see about getting a jab if need be.

Oh dear... but that's already three unlucky things so maybe you are safe from further accidents? Yay for cookies! What kind are you making?

[identity profile] lolabobs.livejournal.com 2013-07-14 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I survived the baking!

And so much for doing a smaller batch of cookies, I got a little carried away... so I have oat and raisin, double choc chip and peanut butter chocolate!!

I shall have to take them into work tomorrow as I certainly don't need to eat 45 cookies!!

Om nom nom, those cookies sound fabulous. I can't be bothered to bake in small batches as it's pretty much the same effort for 20 as it is for 50 cookies. Freezer is a marvellous invention :D

I didn't think about freezing them - do you freeze before or after baking?

[identity profile] kat-lair.livejournal.com 2013-07-17 08:02 am (UTC)(link)
You can do either but I always freeze after baking, just put baking paper between the layers of cookies so they don't get stuck. Noms for weeks!

I might have to make some more now, just so I can freeze them!

Stop doing things!

[identity profile] lolabobs.livejournal.com 2013-07-14 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I shall!

*hugs*

It's okay you've had your three things. You're due something good.

I survived the baking (too well, I made rather more than anticipated or needed!)

Ouch! It sounds as if something has it in for you. (Though peanut butter chocolate cookies - yum1 I might show up at your door. *BG*)

And as laura said, make sure you get your tetanus shot checked.

I called the doctor today and my tetanus is in date (apparently I had a jab in 2008 but have no recollection as to why!)

And mmm, yes, the cookies were good - but I was very well behaved and took 2/3rds into work with me this morning, where they were devoured by lunchtime.
