(plus - 18 Enid Blyton books - I revert to these in times of crisis, because they allow me to shut my brain down - that 18 represents a difficult 2 weeks when I was quite a bit broken)

So 20 completely new, 46 altogether including rereads, and 64 including Enid Blyton! In addition I listened to several Audio Books in the car.

Wow, man, and I thought I did good this year.

I have also read Going Postal (not last year) and the new Harry Potter book. Ever since Good Omens I've been thinking of reading some Neil Gaiman.

I do read quite quickly, I never have a book on the go for a long time, although i sometimes go through phases of not reading (books) at all - then I may read just magazines or SH zines etc - it's quite cyclical - but when I read, I read quickly. I read the Harry Potter book on the day it came out and had finished by mid afternoon (although that's all I did, I just sat there and read!) - I read everynight before bed, and at lunchtimes, and in the bath. At mealtimes at home.. quite a lot really!

Neil Gaiman.. is strange, I quite like his books when I'm reading them - but promptly forget everything about them the minute I have finished. There's no real engagement or conncection.

What I find really interesting about your list is the number of re-reads on it. I almost never do that unless my book club picks something I've already read or it's Jane Eyre or The Time-Traveller's Wife. Not sure if it's because I have so little time and what little time I have is for writing and reading new things.

But I also love Michael Connelly, but was bored senseless by the last Harry Potter book.

My Dad will never reread a book either (although he takes forever to read anything!)

I love rereading things though, books become comfy, safe things and I like to read them again, I like to get to favourite bits and carry the images with me. Sometimes I will finish a book and turn straight back to the beginning again and start over.

Sometimes I'll just reread a specific chapter or section, because that's the image that I crave there and then (those didn't make it on to my list btw!)

Probably the fact I read so much delays me on writing, but it's also a relaxation and I need to read before bed to wind down.

I have the Time Traveller's Wife, but haven't gotten around to reading it yet. I'm working my way through Michael Connelly. The Last HP - maybe not the best, but I like a resolution to things!
