lolabobsThe UK press are still talking about PMG doing Celebrity Big Brother. I don't believe for a second he would, and for the sake of my sanity and freetime I also *hope* he doesn't, as I can't afford the time and effort to watch and record it all in the way I know I would. It's strange - considering the extent of my smit, you'd think I'd be praying he would do it, but I'd be so disappointed.
I googled to see if Saddam had been executed as was anticipated last night - not only was I greeted with a page informing me that indeed he had, there were photographs, not of the deed itself, but the moments immediately before and after. I don't have intelligent or lucid arguments for this kind of thing but I know it repulses me. I know I am strongly against the death penalty. I know that others vehemently agree with it (most of my family for example - though my mother appears to believe that any 'harmful' offence should be greeted with execution, and father thinks that even minor offences should result in imprisonment.) I don't know. I know he has committed abhorrent crimes. meh. I didn't intend to offend or start a discussion - just wanted to gasp in horror at the photograph.
'Christmas' yesterday - more presents - a book, a picture and er, a sock for my mobile phone... was good though. One more gift to open then it really is all over!
