oh, you gotta love technologically minded parents. My dad has brought a new printer - similar to mine, it's an all in one model - printer, scanner, copier, fax. He has managed (kinda!) to install it and I asked him if it was working ok, and had he worked out the scanner. He said not yet, but was looking forward to it because he had this 'great thing that he wanted to take and show people'. Hmm? I was confused. With some probing it turns out he has seen a joke on his ex servicemen's site, that he wishes to print off and show people... He thought he should do this via some kind of 'reverse scan'! aww!
Work continues to spiral in an out of control fashion. I walked in this morning and hadn't even put my bag down before the new trainee was in and wanting a favour. I was polite and answered best as I could, but pointed out that I had just walked in after two days out of the office and was still wearing my coat, so you know, could it perhaps wait a few minutes...
Later, pursuing an extension to the favour, she came and asked would I mind if she ghost wrote (is that a word?) the report she was going to observe. I didn't really mind I suppose, but then it turned out that she'd already been to admin and told them she WAS doing it and had the ppwk ordered etc. Courtesy to wait till I agreed?
I hate that they are in the office next to me - mainly because in going there they stole I&A who are funny and cheer me up when I'm stressed, but now I am their nearest and most accessible source of help. And whilst I am always happy to give it, and remember very clearly what it's like being the trainee, they are in danger of swamping me at the minute.
I fell asleep this evening, and woke up trembling all over. How strange. I'm going to bed soon, but am starving despite having just eaten four! weetabix.
I hate the word 'orbs'.
