Aug. 16th, 2006 09:08 pmIt's the anniversary of Elvis' death today. I was tiny when he died. We were all on holiday at my grandparents' house and it came on the radio. My brothers were pretending to cry and I was bouncing on the bunk bed taunting "You're crying because he's dead....You're crying 'cos he's dead.."
Ah, such a sensitive soul I was.
And, now just to prove I have changed, that happy, stupid memory has just segued into the same house a few years later when my nanny died. x
Work today was strained - I hoped and hoped x wouldn't turn up, so I didn't have to write the big report.. and he didn't! yay! - then 20 minutes later I got a phonecall re Y and I've ended up having to do 2 days worth of reports on that person instead. typical. they say be careful what you wish for!
Had a really nice talk with a colleague today, and I can't go into any details whatsoever, but it was good, good good all the way, then ended in bittersweet news and I a little sad now.
( family stuff, bit long winded )
Complete change of subject - the neighbours dvd was cheap and I bought it - I don't care, I'm nostalgic and not afraid to show it! - I've watched the first disc already -Des and Daphne getting married, Daphne has a baby! Daphne dies! scott and charlene get wed! Harold and Madge get wed! (and it was the same David. I have been screeching names at the telly - "Clive!" "Nell" "- well you get the idea! - I have the second disc to watch - more deaths - I love the concept where the 'best bits' are all the deaths. and omgosh Paul Robinson had a mullet! - but he had his yellow pjs on and he does look good in yello :)
Enough already.
