I watched Old Who today - Earthshock. My friend is trying to pimp me on Old Who* and has been failing because up 'til now all he's given me is Sylvester McCoy. And I know this may be sacrilege, but I can't stand SM. Sorry. Anyway today I watched Earthshock and PD is a much nicer Doctor.
In that I grew up with Tom Baker, and was oftentimes scared when watching, so therafter avoided it. (I was a pathetically wimpy child, I never used to like The Young Ones until because it was so gruesome and violent! I did grow out of that, but it took a while.)
Anyway I liked Earthshock. Primarily because it had Beryl Reid in it wearing leather gloves.

Did I mention that Mum and Dad had adopted a cat? I think I did. He was a stray who camped outside their door all day, every day and snuck in for warmth and cuddles. He is now 100% at home and in charge. And yesterday M&D took him to teh vet's to register him and get him checked over - and he's microchipped. So now everyone's all torn and confused. Obv they are upset at the thought they may lose him; but there's the obvious thought that maybe someone is going to be reunited with their lost cat. The odd thing is that the cat is registerd in Bradford (some 200 mles away) and whomever has lost him hasn't bothered to update this. So we now have to wait a week or so while the vet tries to contact the owner before we know what's what.

I am a little bit in love with the way Clive Merrison laughs on the Radio 4 Sherlock Holmes plays.
