(no subject)

I went out with my parents yesterday. We went to Bungay - a tiny little town, lots of churches, and (nowadays) cafes but little else. It was so crisp and the air was full of smoke from the chimneys. The smell was so English and Wintry and festive. Mum can't walk far, but we had lunch, and meandered round the shops. We went into an organic traditional foodstuffs shop - Olde English Chutneys mingling with stuffed Olives and pickles and bought some Christmas fare, we mooched along the main street and tried to work out what the buildings used to be - ornate stained glass in old schools, an old garage with crumbling walls and a fabulous old bank - with curly windows and mini turrets. We Schlepped back past the churches - two a stones throw from each other and imagined how much conflict there was between them. Then we drove back through the wonderfully bleak Suffolk countryside. Flat, flat and flat, with slightly differing shades of green and grey in between. So plain, yet so home.

And for the first time I felt Christmassy.

Fandom costs... and right here is where I start paying

Sometimes being a fan is a painful business. I thought I watched some dubious David Soul movies, but now I've topped it. Today I watched Undercover. Jeffrey Dean Morgan - you owe me one. I think I had a clue what I was in for when the very first shot was a close up of a pair of breasts. And as it started so it went on. JDM was in the movie, but. Well. Lets just say Ramone wasn't a high point in his career. And yet I watched to the end, albeit with some judicious fast forwarding.

Also, last night I dreamed of the Winchester boys. Unfortunately instead of all the things I might wish to dream featuring such a cast, I dreamt that Sam was infected with some demonic thing that caused him to eat people. I only realised on waking the similarities to the episode, probably because in my dream he ate people graphically, thouroughly and horribly - as in picking flesh from the skin and leaving the empty, bloodied carcasses behind him. It was gross. He also kept trying to eat Dean and in the end Dean had to kill him and burn the bones. It was foul, smelly and sticky and disturbing.
