Wy do I persist in buying multiple small presents instad of 1 large, square, boxed item for each person.

I've been wrapping gifts for MONTHS.

On the positive side I'm watching the Basil Rathbone Shrlock Holmes movies - I haven't seen them for years. My brothers and I used to watch them at teatime whilst Mum was cooking. It was a Friday night tradition I always remembered him as a classic Holmes anbd I loved them - I'm watching them now and am amazed at how very *wrong* they are! The liberties taken with the stories are astonishing - and yet, even so I still love them :)


And now back to wrap wrap wrapping...

Our night out last night didn't go quite to plan.

We aimed to 'start early', but it was 7.45 before I got to my mates, and then we started talking. At 9 we noticed the time, but were still talking and then it was 11.30. She went to get changed and I phoned for a taxi - but they all had waiting times of over an hour.. so she got changed back again, we made toast, ate crisps and watched the L word. P loves it bt it was the first time I'd seen it and midnight after wine and vodka probably wasn't the best time to try and differentiate between several blonde women.

Come 1am and the taxi situation remained unchanged. Why, you ask, didn't you book a cab when you first called. And I would point you back toward the above commenet regarding wine and vodka! Anyway, I walked home and it was blissfully mild. I took (probably unwise) shortcuts and got myself home in 20 minutes (1.3 miles) and felt refreshed and ready to sleep.

It was a really good evening.
