If it's any comfort, as a kid I left a nagging tooth for way, way longer than three weeks and I didn't lose it. They're not keen to extract teeth unless they really have to anyway because of the effect it has on the tooth above or below. Much more likely just to be a cavity that wants filling. But yes.
