Just when I start to flag with Supernatural
How tense was that?
Bobby and Sam? It was terrifying! I thought Dean was going to be called upon to 'kill' Bobby and be faced with the dilemma of kill Bobby to save Sam's soul, or take the ring off and save Bobby and thus lose the soul. (And although I was pretty certain he'd choose Bobby over letting Sam kill him it was still awful.)
And then that didn't happen, but Sam as assassin - my God he's scary, unstoppable and ruthless. I have some empathy for all the demons and monsters he's been killing as Souless!Sam.
It was just so tense to watch and I miss that in the show, I haven't been feeling it for many of this season's episodes, so I was delighted to have that back.
Dean as death, went kinda the way you'd expect, it was clear there was going to be a dilemma in there - but I liked the way they showed the touch of cruelty in Dean with the robber and then showed his true compassion, not with the little girl, but with the mourning husband. He chose that guy over Sammy's soul - which might cause him some retrospective guilt - or would have done if Death hadn't come through anyhow...
And it was good to see Death, and the end - perfect for hiatus, tension and anticipation and , oh, how scared did Sam look?
My bet? Sam will be Sam, fully ensouled and reunion to follow with Dean and la la la.... and although I'm not sure who or what will play Joshua, you can bet something will bring that wall tumbling down...sometime round finale time.
fabulous episode!
