Yes, in my experience cats are normally "Of course I could leap anywhere I wanted to, in a single bound, without ruffling my fur.... but I have no intention of doing so, now, those biscuts are 1mm out of my reach, I'm going to yowl until you move them."
This one was clearly the exception that proves the rule.
