I've just seen the Pirate movie!
We went to the Big cinema. We went on the train. And we had wine. that was good.
And we paid £14 for tickets, and had the big big seats, with the free drink, and popcorn and nachos. It was all self service and there were sofas and that was all rather exciting. And afterwards we had more wine. then came home on the train. With very very drubk people. - ie a man who fell asleep on our table. And another man who was sick. And another man who fell out of the train. (It was at a station, there was no blood and horrific death or anything)
It was very good. I'm not. I liked the original very much, but never fandomed it, so I probably not as invested or had as many expectations. I did like it tho. Johnny Depp - reliable as Captain Jack, love the way he walks, and the eye liner is very beautiful. I was disappointed with Bill Nighy, 'cos I like him so very much, and I think the cgi/make up actually distracted a little bit. Um. Orlando Bloom - meh. I have no love for him and could not feel involved with the father story, or the love story, or, well him really. Jack Davenport - looked MUCH better this time around (what can I say, I like my men a bit ragged!), and he has quite a delicious voice! Keira whatserface.. she was there too. Hmm. This sounds as if I didn't like it. I did. It was funny, and the swash buckling was rather fantastic - especially the fabulous ott set peice 3 way fight! That was just shiny! And the end bit with Captain jack preparing for the swallowing - oh jolly well done! I was expecting it not to end, tho, so wasn't too cross about that (I was cross about waiting what felt like 15 minutes for the credits to end to see the little extra bit and it was 2 seconds long and just wtf!) Oh and too many tentacles and sea monster men. I did like it muchly though
