om. I am a bad Starsky & Hutch fan. I fast forwarded my way through Huggy & The Turkey.
But. oh oh oh - there was a clip that
kimberly_fdr sent me, of DS & PMG being interviewed about the 2004 movie, and they were asked if it was funny and, they both answered in perfect unison, with the exact same words, facial expressions, gestures and tone of voice. Quite perfect.
Oh and there was an audio interview, which made me want to scream, with the interviewers mocking the pair after the interview, seemingly confusing humour and 'banter' with "Were they drunk". Argh.
I remain stressed.

Okay, yes, alot of the interviewers were idiots during the media tour, but the boys always got them back. Today Show guy doesn't know the color of the car? Paul and David just interview each other. UK guy asking stupid questions? Paul decides it's "distract David" time. That's the thing with them, their chemistry is amazing to watch no matter what the circumstances.
Their whole tour, it was like punch-drunk love. They're my boys and I'll love them always.

Date: 2006-09-12 06:32 am (UTC)no, not that one, it was a radio interview I think, the guys were on the phone, paul was just 'finishing a bagel'. They asked them about money, and the 'gay subtext' - saying there 'were never any women onthe show' - the questions were quite facile, so the boys were having fun with it - Paul was asking what the woman was wearing etc - they made some jokes etc, hit off each other.
At the end the interviewers were all - that's a strange interview, were they drunk? they said etc etc
Their whole tour, it was like punch-drunk love.
Oh yes -there are still a couple of bits for me to see, but it's as if nothing has changed - they are as at home with each other as they ever were - it's as if they've never been apart. (I know they've remained friends since the show), they are so joyous in each other's company.

And that is why the legacy of SH, to this day, remains the most amazing thing to watch. Paul and David genuinely care for one another and that kind of relationship translates to the screen whether it's 30 years ago or today.

Date: 2006-09-14 11:46 pm (UTC)I think the worst for me was when they stood there getting the Turkey to 'speak more coloured' - repeating the phrase over and over
although actually the worst was there not being and Starskey and Hutch in it at all, and them thinking we wouldn't mind.
