So, I've just woken and seen the news! And I cried! What the hell! It just seems so immensely important, and I'm now listening to the victory speech and crying again! I don't do politics - I'm shamefully uninformed, yet this makes me so happy and optimistic.

Now off to read my very happy flist!!

Ok - I know I'm a bad international politics person, but how did I not know Obama's slogan was "Yes we can"? Now I'm fixating on Bob the builder, which deducts a little from the victory!

Plus -at the very end of the victory speech, am I the only one who thought it seemed to become quasi religious - with the congregation responding after every statement. Just part of the atmosphere of being there I suppose.

Not to take away from the moment in any way of course, just pondering.

On a different matter:

- I go for my scan on Friday - got the letter yesterday. I have to drink an 'extra' litre of water tomorrow, an extra litre Friday morning, and a litre just before the scan. Oh, and I'm not supposed to go to the loo in the hour preceding the scan either... Do they not know my bladder?! Everytime I even think about it I have the nervous need to wee... goodness knows how they think I'll survive that!
Mum is very peeved that she will not be free to come with me )

I bought Blackadder. It's entirely your fault. You know who. My Lovefilm people didn't send it to me, so I bought them all for £15 instead. All 4! I haven't watched them yet. That's my fault. I won't blame you for everything.
