Jul. 26th, 2013 11:46 pmJust gotten back from seeing Evita. Che was played by Marti Pellow and I looked upon it and it was good. Mainly. Well, no, it was, good staging and Evita was very good (brittle and harsh, but very tragic at the end) - and Che was good - there were only two flaws really - and these both came from me, not his performance. One: I am used to Davis Essex in the role, although I also grew to like Banderas - so Marti's voice wasn't what was expected. My God he can hold a note though. The second flaw was that he reminded me, in an unidentifiable, but equally undeniable way, of an offender- which took me out of the story at times.

(He has a *very* flash car with a personalised (X1 WET) number plate, which numerous people were taking photos of as we left.)
T'was all good.
