I finished reading the new Dalziel and Pascoe this morning, and now I've been feeling nostalgic for early days Peter and Andy - so I'm watching A Clubbable Woman. A bit mellow. I struggled intially with the new book, bits of it are written as an unpunctuated email, which I had to get used to. But I persevered and it was worth it. Plus I guessed a thing. Yay me.
Peter Pascoe was so very very young!

I went shopping, it was dull. But I bought some storage baskets - that was okay. I then went to the supermarket and the man at the till persisted in talking to me, the whole time I was paying. He was talking, and questioning my purchases, it just went on and on. I know there's this whole concept of 'friendliness' and 'customer service', but surely part of that is recognising when someone LOATHES shopping and doesn't wanna chat! I'm such a misery I know. I was 100% polite and nice back to him, but I was glowering within.

Do other people have knobbly bits on the backs of their ankles?

I haven't had vodka for a very long time. It suddenly seems a very nice idea. Maybe I'll have some Tuesday whenI am 'recuperating' and don't have to go to work Wednesday.
