Raragh! I have a document in Word that just won't justify! blargh!

Or correction - it will justify, but it does so by spreading the words on the shorter lines out to cover the whole line.

Why won't it work? It won't even let me just do the solid paragraphs.

Usually when that happens it's because there's a soft return at the end of each line (aka forced line break). Turn on the Show/Hide button (the one that looks like a P that shows all the formatting marks), and if there's a little left-cornered arrow at the end of each line, that's your problem. (To test this, hit Shift+Enter at the end of a line, justify it and see if that matches your problem.)

To fix it, take out all the soft returns and your paragraph should justify properly.

It's usually a copy-and-paste thing--you copy text from somewhere else (a HTML source?) and the formatting gets screwed when you paste it in. If you typed it from scratch, I'm not sure how it would've gotten that way without looking at the document itself.

Anyway, I'm glad that fixed the problem! :)
