I'm recovering from watching My Boy Jack. It was rather lovely. Had me sobbing very early on, but then, knowing the truth (it's about Rudyard Kipling's son John) imbued it all with a poignancy right from the start. And David Haig is completely marvellous.

Ooh. Was that the TV version or the stage version? I saw the stage version a few years ago. 'Tis awfully poignant. The first act ended with their going over the top and there was a pretty grim silence at curtain up.

It was the tv version - I would have lovedto have seen a stage version I think. I imagine it was rather intense.
