yay! I survived the first of the weekend's Christmas outings! -
We went to the local dogtrack. It was a revelation. The food was good (although slightly odd combinations - potato and brocolli cheese bake - served with chips *and* garlic bread? Can you fit anymore carbs on one plate? This also came with a side order of sprouts and swede. Ack!
The dog races were fun - the men came to teh table to take your bets for each race, and I won - ooh once out of the 11 races! So I didn't make my fortune. A colleague won £82 though, so he was happy. The dogs seemed really bouncy. One race was forfeited when the 'hare' broke - and they just kept running round and round the track, changing direction and having a whale of a time!
There was a disco afterward, but the music was dreadful (and I had blisters!), so I was home by half twelve. It was a good night though.
Now to prepare myself for tonight -Still with blisters!
