I've discovered a way to eat salad. I know this shouldn't really be over complicated but I never ate any vegetables at all when growing up and have never really embraced them as an adult. A lot of it is texture, the more crunchy something is the better the odds of me eating it (My parents are old style 'boil every vegetable for at least 20 minutes' merchants). I try things every now and then, and this current diet healthy eating thing, has necessitated a more concentrated effort.
My technique then, involves burying the green things under other stuff - Quorn, beetroot, eggs, pickled onion, peppers and balsamic vinegar. The idea is to ensure I never have to eat a forkful of 'just' veg! (pickled onions and beetroot don't count as veg!). It works, (but I still feel hungry afterwards!)
Isn't it sad that this is a triumph for me?!
