lolabobsI went to bed at 2, was up between 3 and 4 with toothache, and slept till 11.15 as a result.
Despite that I managed to do some washing, take doen the Christmas decs, go out with a friend and do some knitting. Do you know how long it takes to cast off 490 stitches?! 40 minutes is how long! Bloody hell. Glad I did the longest bit first.
Erm. I watched and it was... okay actually. I didn't hate on it. There were bits that made me go Hmmm of course, and I was disappointed the Sontaren didn't get to shoot Martha, but hey ho. I also wish that Donna had been restored and used fully, but I didn't hate on it all. I like David Tennant see, and therefore quite like his Doctir. And also, this story was actually better in part two. That's not to say I didn't think the whole Master race thing was awful (and when did dying and being resurrected result in dreadfully bleached hair?). Mainly though it had LOTS of Bernard Cribbens, and I like him. My memory of the other episode was that Alonso died, so I didn't really understand how he came to be in a space bar? But I guess I misremembered that part?
As for Matt Smith - well I've always thought he looked a bit rubbish, but was determined not to judge him out of hand and before he had chance to do his thing, so I was waiting to be 'blown away' by his New Doctor. Instead he seemed to be attempting a Tennant impression, which is worrying, 'cos Ten seemed to be Ten from the outset. Hmm. Also, did he spit at the console on teh Tardis?I admit I might have seen that wrong. I was distracted by a cat at the time.
Am I supposed to do resolutions? I don't think I want to. In fact, no, I'm not going to. That was a sudden decision when faced with teh idea of reviewing self and situation just before bed, and even though I'm sitting up waiting until I can take some more painkillers, I'd raher full my time with freecell than self-examination.
Right. Also, I've got to wind some wool.
Oh, but I am going to use my icons in alphabetical order on posts, just to use the buggers.

Date: 2010-01-02 02:27 pm (UTC)Matt Smith - looked good in the brief flashes in the trailer, and I am keen to see him in he future eps. It's difficult because everyone is looking to those few seconds at the regeneration - p'raps, like you said RTD wouldn't let go!
Catherine Tate is the exact reason I'm not dismissing MS out of hand, because I disliked her show and didn't like her in her first episode at all, but she has become my favourite companion of the new lot. I was disappointed with Matt's first few seconds, but am fully prepared to like him once he finds his feet and plays His Doctor.
Just a few months to wait!
