But I did have hopes of a different outcome to this election. The map of colours is so very depressing and after all the news saying so I kinda expected teh Lib Dems to gain a few extra seats this time around rather than lose them. And I'm horrified to hear of the people beng turned away from polling stations and how they couldn't cope with the 'hugely increased voter turn out' only to read that the percentage of eligible voters who turned out is only around 65% What the hell? how can 35% of people not give a rat's arse?! I am astonished and slightly afeared.

Goodness knows what will happen now.

I only realised this morning, when I was bizarrely surprised at the outcome, that I'd been optimistic as well ... quietly convinced that the polls weren't true and it'd be all fine in the end and just you wait and see, and I was slightly wrong there.

I suppose it's quite heart warming in a way, to realise that we still have a little bubble of hope within - even if it means we have it crushed!
