I've just watched it and bits of it were marvellous. Wayward Son still grabs me and reels me in and the opener with Sam was clever - and I really liked the joining of the pieces of Sam. I don't always fully appreciate his acting and it was good to see the three faces of Sam like this, really emphasising the differences. His eyes as RoboSam! especially noteworthy and vulnerable caged Sam was good. And I liked that he didn't need to be 'fixed' at the end, that he did it himself and for Dean.
And Crowley's always good. And some of the things he said this week? Peanut/chocolate butter really? What the hell must Mark S think when he reads the scripts? It must be joyous.
And Dean was all low key angst and woe and Bobby was Bobby and awesome.
And then there was Cas - with his "Kneel Before
Hmmm.

Date: 2011-05-22 06:47 pm (UTC)The finale starts off with Sam in peril, the wall's come down and he's fighting through it. Dean is angst filled and worried. Partway through Dean has to leave Sam to fight on alone, but by the end they are reunited, alive and, although upset at things that have happened (not to them), they are okay.
Although there's not tons of face to face Sam'n'Dean, the feel is of them together.
The uncertainty comes with Cas, he achieves his aim re Purgatory and the very end scene sees him declaring himself a (the?) new God and demanding that Sam, Dean and Bobby kneel and worship him or be destroyed...
