Are you watching it. Have you seen it. It's just. It. Well. I'm not sure how to say all the things. So far true love seems to be about selfishness, or weak women, pining, desperate women who will Stand By Their Man no matter what. Unless they're Evil women breaking up a happy home or stealing money and. Oh.
It feels rather self indulgent too - all these (admittedly good) actors, coming together for a little week of improv and dramarama. It's very beautifully filmed, some really striking shots, or warmth or smouldering looks. But that's not enough. Tennant's story - well he just seemed like a sap, there wasn't enough depth to make me care for any of them, certainly not to believe in a grand passion. The old flame was just one dimensional flat and Tennant was a sap.
Second one, well, at least a tad more believable, but even so, weep and wail and forgive all?
It's left me incredibly irritable.
