So. First I thought I'd try and draw the Indian again to see if there was any improvement ( bearing in mind it couldn't really get worse!

Then at lunch today I tried to draw - I used a postcard Ihave on my wall as inspiration (ie there are no pretty, topless men wandering around in my office - though occasionally there are old, drunken topless men - but I wouldn't draw them, too busy trying to make them leave..) I folded the paper in four, and planned to draw it four times one after the other, again to see if there was any improvement.

My artist friend tells me to 'draw what I see' not 'what your brain tells you you ought to see', which kind of makes sense, and i think that has helped me a little. This lunchtime experiment however. well, i think they got worse instead of better

Oh yay for return of the indian guy!:) And in response to your cut tag, I think probably we are allowed to quietly carry on past August's limits maybe? I don't know. I sort of want to fill my whole book:)

The proportions of the head and neck in (3) are quite good, actually.

Oh, and for tips on "Drawing what you see" I highly recommend Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards (I have it on my bookshelf, actually... if you were here, I'd go get it, and lend it to you). :-)
